BGS Founder Bill Shute Dies
Ocala, FL - Jan 3, 2013 - William "Bill" G. Shute, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Dec. 28, 2012. He was 80.
Shute was born in Wheaton, IL, on April 1, 1932. He was raised in Glen Ellyn, IL. Outside his Bill was the 1949 tri-state speed skating champion. He also lettered in tennis all four years of high school. He met and married his high school sweetheart Joanne Fowle, and they were married for 62 years, raising four 4 children.
Shute was an entrepreneur all his life. He owned and operated Broadcasters General Store in Ocala, which he founded in 1979. His children and grandchildren operate the business today.
A celebration of Bill Shute's life will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services; 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd.; Ocala, FL, on Jan. 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County; PO Box 4860; Ocala, FL 34478.
