Quincy, IL - Feb 20, 2013 − Broadcast Electronics (BE) has promoted Don Backus to eastern region sales manager. In his new role, Backus serves BE customers in the eastern U.S. as the representative of the company's RF and studio lines, which include AudioVAULT, Commotion and The Radio Experience (TRE) studio brands as well as BE's AM, FM and HD Radio transmitter lines.

Previously, Backus represented Commotion, a Broadcast Electronics company, as vice president of global market development. Backus will continue his efforts with Commotion.

Backus brings 40 years of active, hands-on broadcast experience. Backus has both a professional and personal interest for the broadcast industry and serves as a director on the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation.

Backus reports to Tom Beck, director, sales and RF product development.
