Alliance for Women in Media Honors Jana Polsky

McLean, VA - Jan 19, 2011 - Jana Polsky has received the 2010 AWM Achievement Award from the Alliance for Women in Media (AWM). Polsky is an award-winning writer/producer for the Westwood One Radio Networks. The 2010 Achievement Award will be presented to Polsky at AWM's Leadership Training and Women in Media Ownership Symposium in Washington, DC, March 24-25, 2011.

Polsky has been a long-standing member and supporter of AWM at both the national and local level. She is an active member of the AWM New York City Chapter and past Chapter President. Under her leadership, she built a successful event series and provided mentorship to both students and professionals across the country. She was instrumental in the launch of AWM student chapter at Montclair State University.

Polsky has played an important role with AWM's radio public service announcement (PSA) campaigns, which have received millions of dollars of donated airplay from stations across the country. She also served on the editorial advisory board of AWM's award-winning Making Waves magazine and was active in the growth of the Gracie Awards, AWM's signature event.
