Ukrainian Broadcaster NRCU to use DRM on Medium Wave
Kiev, Ukraine - Feb 13, 2012 - NRCU plans to use 15 to 16 medium-wave DRM transmitters (transmitting on two frequencies) to cover up to 90 percent of the Ukraine. Lack of spectrum in the FM band is the primary reason, according to Alexander Kurdinovych, chairman of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting. "It is the proper order of the president of Ukraine Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Finance to make concrete proposals to address this issue. We have fully prepared all technical documentation for the project to create such a network. The only thing that remains to us is to get funding, and to announce a tender to purchase transmitters."
