Sydney, 2Day FM Bring New Year's Eve 2011 to Visually Impaired
Sydney - Dec 15, 2011 - Visually impaired Australians will be able to share in the excitement of Sydney's New Year's Eve fireworks display this year thanks to the City of Sydney and 2Day FM - collaborators in the establishment of a special DAB+ station that will broadcast a commentary of the displays on Dec. 31. The pop-up station will be called NYE2011.
Sydney's New Year's Eve is the biggest in Australia, attracting 1.5 million people to the harbor foreshore, while 2.6 million people across the country watch the fireworks on their televisions at home. With NYE2011, TV viewers could be joined by the estimated 300,000 Australians who are visually impaired.
