SBE Updates CertPreview Certification Exam Preparation Software
Indianapolis - May 24, 2010 - The Society of Broadcast Engineers has unveiled the new SBE CertPreview, the SBE's certification exam preparation software. For the past six months, the SBE has been working to create a more convenient and interactive SBE CertPreview. Compatible with Windows and Macintosh computers, the new SBE CertPreview allows users to download SBE CertPreview from the SBE's website immediately after purchasing the software. The new software can also be purchased on a CD that will be mailed to the user. The downloaded version costs $29, and the CD version costs $33 plus $3.00 shipping and handling.
The new SBE CertPreview contains more than 100 sample questions for each certification level that it covers. Users can review and change answers prior to scoring the sample exam, and can revisit the questions within the sample exam after the scoring process. Users can also see the results by topical category, which helps them identify strengths and weaknesses.
SBE President Vinny Lopez, CEV CBNT said, "The SBE CertPreview is the only application SBE offers that provides a real representation of the certification exam content. SBE has the opportunity with the new SBE CertPreview to update questions and content on a real-time basis, providing the user the most up-to-date information they need for the exams."
"This version of SBE CertPreview gives us better tools to enhance and update the program and database of questions going forward,” stated SBE national certification committee chairman Jim Bernier, CPBE CBNT.
CertPreview is available for the following SBE exams:
The SBE Program of Certification permits individuals to demonstrate comprehension of the prescribed body of knowledge for his or her particular experience level and field of specialization. The actual exams consist of 50 multiple choice questions drawn from a file of hundreds of questions, ranging from basic electronics to state-of-the-art maintenance problems. The more advanced exams include an essay question as well. Working engineers on the SBE Certification Committee develop the exam questions.
