Cologne, Germany - RTW's Surround Control, Surround Monitor, and Digital Monitor now include an integrated loudness display conforming to the ITU BS.1771 guideline as a standard feature. With this line-up, the manufacturer now offers easy-to-use monitoring for loudness of stereo, multi-channel and surround signals in a wide range of applications, as a complement or an alternative to conventional peak meters.

With the RTW Digital Monitor 10500, a high-performance, budget-friendly display system with a TFT screen for monitoring digital stereo audio signals, users can select integrated loudness measurement for stereo signals, as an alternative to the usual peak meter bar graphs.

The six-channel Surround Monitors 10600 and 10660-VID extend this capability to include monitor digital multi-channel and surround audio signals as well as stereo. They also include an integrated Surround Sound Analyzer. Depending on the selected channel mode, the display shows two or six bar graphs for the individual channels, plus two further bar graphs for the summed-up loudness of the 5.1 or stereo channels and the result of an integration over longer time-spans.

The eight-channel Surround Monitor 11900, and the Surround Control 31900 and 31960 with an additional sophisticated monitoring control, give users even more display options. Three individual bar graphs show the summed-up loudness of all individual signals, the integrated value with a dynamical time window, and the result of a long-time integration over the last seven days or more. These can be used in addition to or instead of the usual peak meter bar graphs.

The current software versions for all three series include a number of further enhancements and improvements. For example, the new full-screen mode for the Digital Monitor 10500 and Surround Monitor 10600/10660-VID features an extra-large display, while the Surround Control 31900/31960 incorporates a flexible internal signal generator that relies on signal clusters in BLITS format, enabling easy identification of individual surround channels.
