New York Festivals Calls for 2012 Radio Program and Promotion Awards Entries

New York - Jan 10, 2012 - The 2012 New York Festivals Radio Program and Promotion Awards, recognizing the world's best radio programs, has released its call for entries. Established in 1982, the competition honors the innovative work in radio broadcasting, with entries from radio stations, networks and independent producers.

New York Festivals Radio Program and Promotion Awards Executive Director Rose Anderson announced several updates. There are now categories for Program Open, Best Regularly Scheduled Sports Program, Best Sports Special, Sports and Recreation, Environment and Ecology, and Best Student Documentary. On Air Station Contests are now eligible in the Special Event category. The Podcast group includes two new categories: Sports and Recreation and Culture and the Arts.

New York Festivals continually monitors trends in worldwide programming in the broadcast industry and introduces new categories designed to showcase those emerging industry trends. Current category groups include News Programs, News Reports/Features, Satellite Radio, Information/Documentary, Entertainment, Talk Programs, On-Air Talent, Craft and Technique, Programming Format, Morning Drive Programming, Promotion Spots, IDs, Audio Podcasts and Student categories.

Enter online at the NYF website. The deadline to enter is March 19, 2012. All award winning entries will be featured at www.newyorkfestivals.com.
