WATERTOWN, SD - Feb 4, 2009 - The National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) has released the second edition of the NATE Tower Climber Fall Protection Training Standard (NATE CTS). With the release of the new ANSI Z359 standards in October 2007, the NATE Board of Directors tasked the Association's OSHA Relations Committee to revise the NATE CTS to remain in compliance with the new standards. Over the past year, the OSHA Relations Committee, lead by Chairman Gordon Lyman, along with the NATE board of directors, devoted hours to editing and enhancing the content of the CTS. Combined, the group has hundreds of years experience in the tower industry that they have applied to the development of this document. The standard also outlines the requirements for additional training as a climber gains experience and knowledge through three separate levels of training: authorized climber, competent climber and competent rescuer.

The Second Edition of the NATE CTS is available to everyone in the industry and NATE is encouraging all companies in the tower industry to review the updated and revised document for additional information to improve safety on their sites.
