Los Angeles Fires Approach Mt. Wilson Transmitter Site
Los Angeles - Aug 30, 2009 - As the wildfires continue in the Los Angeles area, the Mt Wilson tower site, home to many radio and TV broadcast transmitters, is being threatened by the fires. Mt. Wilson and neighboring Mt. Harvard have been evacuated.
This photo was taken from the Mt. Wilson Observatory camera on the evening of Aug. 29. Images from this camera are updated every two minutes and can be seen at this link.
