Southfield, MI - Mar 16, 2009 - After a week of gathering and posting digital photos of gold and platinum album awards from stations all over the United States, the Jacobs Media Going For The Gold campaign has concluded. More than 2,600 digital pictures have been posted to Jacobs Media's Going For The Gold website, culled from more than 200 radio stations, representing 40 of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia.
The campaign's organizer forwarded the images to the NAB. Both groups are pleased with the response and the message they want to send to Congress. The campaign was designed to demonstrate radio's role in promoting music and artists. Its genesis came from Emmis St. Louis Market Manager John Beck. NRG's Chuck DuCoty and Mary Quass asked Jacobs Media to lead the campaign.
The more than 75 Web pages filled with gold and platinum albums is a digital collection of thank-yous from the record industry, underscoring radio's historic support and contributions to music and artists.
