Gunzerath Joins MRC as Senior VP
New York - Jul 9, 2007 - The Media Rating Council has hired David Gunzerath as senior vice president, associate director. Gunzerath will focus on assuring that audits are effective and thoroughly acted upon by the syndicated measurement services working with the MRC. He will also work to strengthen new auditing areas for MRC, specifically new Internet and interactive measurement initiatives and standard-setting activities, as well as emerging data-integration techniques.
Gunzerath, who holds a doctorate in communications studies from the University of Iowa, joins MRC after eight years as vice president of research and information with the National Association of Broadcasters. During his tenure at the NAB, Gunzerath managed a staff of four and served as a source of expertise on a variety of policy and research-related issues for the NAB's members and staff.
Gunzerath's background, in addition to his NAB experience, includes nine years of research and marketing experience with TV Guide Magazine, university-level teaching and research, and accounting and auditing work at a large CPA firm. His professional memberships and affiliations include the Nielsen NSI Customer Alliance Committee and Technical Subcommittee, the Nielsen Council for Research Excellence, the Advertising Research Foundation, the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Media Economics, and the Broadcast Education Association Council of Professionals.
In addition to his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, Gunzerath holds an MA in communications from Temple University and a B.S. degree in business administration from La Salle College in Philadelphia.
