McLean, VA - Jan 31, 2007 - American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) for the second year are jointly sponsoring the Female Engineer of the Year Award. This is part of the AWRT's history of recognizing women making inroads in all areas of electronic media.
The award recognizes a female AWRT or SBE member who has made significant contributions to the broadcasting industry in a technical focus. The individual must be someone who has advanced the goals and objectives of the SBE or AWRT, while simultaneously promoting the field as a career path for women in the electronic media.
The award will be presented at the 2007 AWRT Leadership Summit, March 8 to March 10, 2007, in Washington, DC.
