Content Depot Begins Service
Washington - Nov 14, 2006 - On Nov.1, 2006, the Public Radio Satellite System (PRSS) began distributing programming through its new delivery system called Content Depot. The system is currently running parallel with the existing satellite delivery system until the end of January 2007.
During the dual-delivery period, PRSS will be able to fully test the system and resolve any problems that are discovered. The dual period will also help make a smoother transition from the old to the new system.
The new system includes a store-and-forward system to capture and hold programs within the receiver system. Content Depot also provides a cataloging system for stations and producers to share and exchange programs.
