Community Broadcasters Plan Demonstration in Front of NAB HQ
Washington - Dec 13, 2010 - Community radio station organizers will converge on the headquarters of the National Association of Broadcasters today. The group will have hula hoops and juggle radios as a way to ask the NAB to stop fighting the Local Community Radio Act (HR 1147, S 592). This bill would relax current rules on low-power radio.
The message of the demonstrators: "Stop making community radio jump through hoops. Expand low-power FM now and join us to celebrate the future of radio!" The bill has passed the House of Representatives and the Senate Commerce Committee.
The effort will begin at noon on Dec. 13, 2010, in front of the NAB headquarters at 1771 N Street NW, Washington, DC.
