San Antonio - May 6, 2008 - Clear Chanel Radio announced the winners of its annual Engineer of the Year awards. Senior Vice presidents of engineering from the western, central and eastern regions each recognized an engineer for outstanding contributions over the past year.

  • Josh Hadden - director of engineering and IT, Clear Channel New York City
Senior Vice President of Engineering Randy Mullinax recognized Josh Hadden, a multi-year winner, for his work in constructing a new office and studio complex that consolidated the operations of all the NYC radio stations.
  • Jeff Bennett - director of engineering, Clear Channel Dayton
Already honored with this award in 2005, Senior Vice President Dan Mettler presented this year's award to Jeff Bennett for his continuing leadership and technical direction for the Dayton cluster, including testing and refining monitoring and control software to be deployed throughout the radio group.
  • John Paoli - AM chief engineer, Clear Channel Los Angeles
Selected by Senior Vice President Tim Cox, John Paoli has proven to be a tremendous asset to the Clear Channel Los Angeles engineering team, rebuilding the KFI tower that was destroyed by an airplane in 2004. He managed all reconstruction logistics, including legal and regulatory requirements.

"Every year I find myself more impressed with the engineering skills we put to work throughout the company," said Steve Davis, Clear Channel Radio senior vice president, engineering and capital management. "I know the three regional SVPEs had a tough time selecting the 'best' from such a deep talent pool."

The Engineer of the Year awards will be presented during a luncheon at the local market where each winner lives and works, so each can be recognized among his colleagues.
