Bavarian Regional DAB+ Network Shrinks to Reduce Costs
Munich - Dec 16, 2013 - The Bavarian regional DAB+ network has been reorganized. Previously 39 transmitters were used, covering approximately 94 percent of the region. This has now been reduced to 26 transmitters, though 16 of the 26 have been increased significantly in power. The coverage is now approximately 88 percent of the region, according to RadioNL.
The Bavarian regional multiplex (on channel 12D) carries ten radio stations, including Antenne Bayern, Rock Antenne, Absolut Hot, Schlager Paradies and three stations from the Bavarian public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk.
