2010 EAS Summit Issues Draft Agenda
Washington - Feb 12, 2010 - The National Alliance of State Broadcasters Associations (NASBA) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will present the 2010 EAS National Summit on Feb. 28 - March 1, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Washington, DC. These summits have been held for the past several years, and NASBA and the NAB assemble panelists and attendees to discuss and plan the efforts to integrate government oversight and broadcaster participation in serving as the lifeline to the public in emergencies.
The summit covers two days. Agenda topics include a discussion with FCC and FEMA officials, remarks from Summit Co-chair Ann Arnold (President and CEO, Texas Association of Broadcasters) and NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith, first informer issues, public warning and reliability issues, and a panel discussion with Congressional staff and Congressmen.
Radio magazine is planning a wrap-up review of the event.
