New York Festivals 2009 Radio Programming & Promotion Awards Call for Entries
New York, NY - Jan 19, 2009 - New York Festivals 2009 Radio Programming & Promotion Awards officially opens its Call for Entries Monday, Jan. 19. Established in 1982, the competition honors the most original and innovative work in radio broadcasting with entries from radio stations, networks and independent producers from around the globe. Entry categories include: News Programs, News Inserts, Information/Documentary, Entertainment, Talk Programs and On-air Talent. Additional categories range from Craft & Technique, Programming Format, Promotion Spots and IDs to Audio Podcast and Student categories.
New categories added to this year's competition include: Best Online Radio Station, Best Online Music Program, Best Online Talk Program, Best Radio Network Website, Best Radio Station Website and Best Online Radio Station Website.
This year's jury includes Ally Ballingall of Radio Tay London, England; Peter A. Musngi of Manila Radio Division, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation; Paul Baxter of Risk Sound, Port, Melbourne Australia; Dr. Dolkum Kamberi of Radio Free Asia, Washington DC; Peter Lack of Redaktion hr3comedy, Frankfurt, Germany; Blanquita Cullum, Member, Broadcasting Board of Governors and Chairman of Talk Radio First Amendment Committee, Alexandra, VA; Doug Mitchell, Washington, DC; and Vijay Sadhu of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Every year the Radio Programming and Promotion Awards, and the United Nations Department of Public Information offer the opportunity for entrants to be awarded the United Nations Department of Public Information Award. Since 1990, this award has honored radio broadcasting that best exemplifies the ideals and goals of the United Nations.
All winning entries of the New York Festivals Radio Programming and Promotion Award Competition are featured in our Showcase section of our website www.newyorkfestivals.com. and our network of representatives promote the winners of the NYF internationally in 62 countries around the world.
