More Auto OEMs Intro DAB as Standard Feature in UK
Mar 26, 2013 - More and more automobile OEMs are introducing DAB radios as standard equipment for the U.K. The Ford Fiesta ST will have a DAB radio as standard equipment, as will the Vauxhall Adam. The Honda CR-V 2.2 i-DTEC 4WD Executive will be equipped with DAB as a standard feature, as will nearly all 2014 Audi models.
The news follows similar promises from Volkswagen, Jaguar and Ford as the UK government plans to switch off the standard analog AM/FM radio (though no plan is finalized as of yet).
In terms of cars, nearly a third of all new models have DAB fitted as standard, meaning there are nearly 150,000 new DAB cars on the roads every three months in the UK, according to motortorque.com.
