Hong Kong - Aug 5, 2011 - The Standard reports that this November, four Hong Kong-based broadcasting companies will launch 18 new radio stations via DAB. Promotion of those stations is starting to heat up. For example, to let potential listeners know about the new stations soon to be brought in to existence by Digital Broadcasting Corporation Hong Kong, the founder, Albert Cheng King-hon, is selling 1,000 digital radio sets for just HK$1 each to visitors at this month's 8th Annual Computer and Communications Festival at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

Meanwhile, Cheng's rivals are offering other promos. Metro Broadcast will distribute a limited number of concert tickets, worth HK$300, for free. Phoenix U Radio will host a DJ competition, while Radio Television Hong Kong will display a tree model to show "cloud computing." All four companies will demonstrate DAB at the convention.
