Hogan Elected SBE President
Indianapolis - Aug 27, 2011 - The Society of Broadcast Engineers announced the results of the 2011 election for the national board of directors. Ralph Hogan, CPBE DRB CBNT, was elected as the society's president. Hogan is the director of engineering for KJZZ, KBAQ, SunSounds of Arizona, in Tempe, AZ.
Others serving one-year terms as officers beginning Sept. 28, 2011, are:
Vice President - Joe Snelson, CPBE 8-VSB, vice president of engineering at Meredith Corporation in Las Vegas, NV.
Secretary - James Leifer, CPBE, director of engineering and IT at Clear Channel South Florida in Miami.
Treasurer - Jerry Massey, CPBE 8-VSB AMD DRB CBNT, corporate regional engineer and DoE at Entercom Communications in Greenville, SC.
Serving two-year terms on the board of directors are:
Raymond Benedict, CPBE, director of spectrum engineering at CBS in Washington, DC.
Paul J. Burnham, CPBE, field support manager at Communications e2v in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Mark Heller, CSRE CTO, president/GM/chief engineer at WTRW/WGBW Radio in Two Rivers, WI.
Charles "Ched" Keiler, CPBE 8VSB CBNT, director of engineering at Reach Communications in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
David Priester, CPBE, director of the Ithaca College technical operations in Ithaca, NY.
Gary Stigall, CPBE, chief technology officer at TV Magic in San Diego, CA.
The national board of directors of the SBE is responsible for the development of policy and determines the programs and services the society provides to its more than 5,100 members. Those elected will begin their terms on September 28 during the SBE Membership Meeting. They will join the other six directors who have another year remaining in their terms as well as immediate past president, Vincent Lopez, CEV CBNT.
The SBE National Meeting will be held in conjunction with the Ohio Broadcast Engineering Conference and the Ohio Association of Broadcasters. The event will take place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel and The Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
