Harris Hires Thomason, Expands North American Radio Sales Territories
Denver - Nov 27, 2012 - Harris Broadcast has reconfigured its radio broadcast sales territories in North America. The changes include the hiring of Jim Thomason, a 30-year veteran in the radio broadcast industry.
Thomason, who had previously worked for Harris as a district sales manager, will return to the company and focus on the southeast U.S. region. The move will shift long-time regional sales manager Garrett Wood to the northwest region, including Alaska and western Canada.
"With Jim's hiring, we have taken the opportunity to shift sales responsibilities in a way that leverages the regional strengths of our existing sales representatives in the United States and Canada," said Mark Goins, manager, North American radio sales. "We had a unique opportunity in the northwest and Garrett stepped up to the challenge, as he has experience in this territory. We believe that the changes will benefit our customers in every region."
Thomason has worked in radio since he was 16, giving him a keen insight into customer challenges and how to effectively offer solutions. He most recently served as a regional sales manager for SCMS, which is an external North American sales channel for Harris PR&E studio systems.
Goins, who also handles Midwest U.S. sales, notes that other long-time regional sales managers Ron Lane and Brian Szewczyk will see territory expansions as well. The complete breakdown follows:
■ Garrett Wood: Northwest U.S. and western Canada (phone: 404-474-8852)
■ Ron Lane: Southwest U.S., including Hawaii (phone: 951-699-7165)
■ Mark Goins: Midwest U.S. (phone: 513-899-9124)
■ Brian Szewczyk: Northeast U.S. and eastern Canada (phone: 518-226-0918)
■ Jim Thomason: Southeast U.S. (phone: 866-573-5935)
