Harris Partners with Factum on DAB, DMB
Las Vegas - Apr 19, 2007 - Harris has entered a strategic alliance with Factum Electronics of Linkoping, Sweden that allows the two to distribute and market Harris and Factum products and support services. Harris plans to offer digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) and digital audio broadcasting (DAB) products to broadcasters that want to offer digital audio, mobile video and data services over a single platform to consumer hand-held devices. Factum will provide the head-end equipment for the compression and multiplexing of various digital audio, video and data services into a single transport stream en route to the transmitter. Harris transmitters would receive and modulate the signals in preparation for over-the-air transmission to mobile devices.
