Google Adds Public Alerts to Google Maps
Jan 25, 2012 - Google has launched a new Google Crisis Response project called Google Public Alerts. The project is designed to bring relevant emergency alerts to the public when they are needed. Possible alerts include weather and public safety.
Data is collected and posted from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Weather Service and the US Geological Survey (USGS).
