Digital Radio Shows Strong at CeBIT 2012
Hannover, Germany - Mar 1, 2012 - CeBIT 2012, touted as the world's largest compute fair, will be held in Hannover, Germany, between March 6 and March 10, and digital radio will be well represented there. Visitors to the fair will be able to listen to digital radio programs in addition to trying out various digital radio receivers.
In Hanover, there are 21 public or private programs available via digital radio, including NDR. In other German metropolitan areas, such as Halle (Saxony-Anhalt) there are 23different programs on-air; in Munich, there are close to 30. After the Aug. 1, 2011, launch, there are 13 programs available via digital radio across Germany (three public, 10 commercial).
In September 2011 there were about 100 different models of digital radios available; now there are about 140. Models ranges from small kitchen radios to iPhone docking stations and large color screens.
