DAB+ Considered Growth Engine for German Electronics Industry
Frankfurt and Baden-Baden, Germany - Sep 19, 2013 - In-car digital radio is supported widely by the German Electronics Industry. Strong sales figures were presented at the 2013 , which will help to further impress the automotive OEMs. A recent forum called Digital Radio in the Car was held on Sept. 19 in Frankfurt, during the International Motor Show (IAA) and attended by about 60 experts in the field. The forum was by the Digital Radio Project Office of World DMB and the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
The head of German Broadcaster ARD's Digital Radio Project Office, Michael Reichert, said "Digital radio is a reality, and the product has arrived on the market. Car radios must reflect the new diversity of programs with as many additional services as well. The private and public broadcasters want Manufacturers to take this into account."
VDA Managing Director Kay Lindemann said, "The network expansion is proceeding apace and digital devices are increasingly in-demand by consumers for the car. Our automakers reported from month-to- month more orders. The digital terrestrial broadcasting is now considered a growth engine for the electronics industry."
