Continental Electronics Acquires Weather Radio Division of IREC Crown Broadcast
Dallas - Jan 27, 2011 - Continental Electronics has acquired the weather radio business unit from IREC Crown Broadcast and assumes the group's contractual obligations to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for low-power weather radio transmitter systems. Continental's initial commitment is to provide 42 fully redundant 300W and 1kW systems.
"This move allows Crown Broadcast IREC to focus on its core market of FM broadcasters using our transmitter/translator products," said Kent Koselke, sales and marketing manager for Crown Broadcast IREC.
