Clip Interactive Announces First International Customer
BOULDER, COLO.— Clip Interactive announced their first international customer through a partnership with Padova, Italy-based radio company Sphera Holding to bring interactive radio to five stations.
This is the first time that Clip Interactive has provided its apps for international stations. The Sphera Clip Radio-powered apps will enable listeners to interact with and respond to the broadcast or online stream by downloading music, entering contests, accessing special offers, taking polls and responding to relevant advertiser messaging.
“Around the world, terrestrial radio is utilized to broadcast new music, sports, news and more, but like many stations in the U.S., international radio stations are struggling to engage with their listeners beyond just listening,” said said Bill Freund, chief revenue officer at Clip Interactive.
In the fall, Sphera radio stations in northeast Italy, Radio Company and Radio Padova, will launch their apps, and soon after additional apps will be created for radio brands Radio 80, Radio Easy Network and Radio Valbelluna.
“Since we saw the interview with Clip Interactive on MarkRamseyMedia.com, we were interested in this disruptive technology, which allows terrestrial radio stations to compete with the Internet music services for the first time,” said Luca Pagan, ICT Director of Sphera Holding.
