Columbia, MD – May 14, 2014 – iBiquity Digital Corporation announced that Volkswagen has stepped up their support of the Artist Experience feature, which allows broadcasters to transmit artist images and station logos to the radio display. Volkswagen was the first automaker to launch a radio supporting Artist Experience and now they are the first to utilize station logos to identify station presets. The 2015 Golf, available at dealers in June, is the first VW to get the new MIB radio and it will spread throughout the entire VW line-up in coming months.

The Artist Experience feature gives broadcasters the ability to deliver images and station logos along with their digital audio programming. This advanced HD Radio feature first launched in 2011 and now has more than 1,000 stations in the U.S. sending Artist Experience Images.

Thirty-five automakers have now publicly announced plans to incorporate HD Radio technology in 185+ models by year-end with more than 90 models featuring HD Radio receivers as standard equipment. Five automakers utilize HD Radio technology to deliver subscription-free traffic and data information to their vehicles.
