DRM Consortium, Brazilian Broadcasters Hold DRM Workshop
Sao Paulo, Brazil - Oct 1, 2012 - The Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium and Brazilian broadcasters will celebrate the launch of the Brazilian DRM Multi-Sector Platform on Oct. 1, 2012, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Following from the increased interest and presence of the DRM Consortium in Brazil, the event and workshop launching the platform will give a chance to all interested parties and stakeholders, including the listeners, to understand how DRM can serve the needs of radio in Brazil. While the choice of the digital audio broadcasting standard is still under scrutiny and discussion in Brazil, the new platform will be able to promote DRM as a Brazilian broadcasting standard.
The DRM Consortium is an international, not-for-profit organization grouping radio broadcasters (public and commercial), regulators, network operators, manufacturers, research institutes all keen to promote the technical, economic and social benefits of DRM.
The Brazilian DRM Platform unites researchers, broadcasters, manufacturers as well as other public or private organizations. Their aim is to promote DRM in Brazil and explain how this efficient standard, "without any secrets", can best give access to content that is relevant to as many Brazilian listeners as possible, wherever they are and whenever they want it.
