Canadian Forces Radio and Television Network Taps IDC
Ottawa, ON - Jan 26, 2011 - International Datacasting Corporation has received a contract from the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) for the continued operation of Canadian Forces Radio and Television (CFRT). The contract is the second of two renewal options, as part of the overall contract IDC won in December 2008.
IDC says this is the 11th consecutive year that IDC has been chosen to provide the service to Canadian troops serving overseas. The CFRT network delivers content in entertainment programming, sports and news over two television channels, English and French, as well as FM radio. IDC provides this service to troops deployed in several regions around the globe including the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.
International Datacasting Corporation (IDC) is responsible for all aspects of programming including negotiating rights and permissions, scheduling, recording and uplinking the content distribution network from its Ottawa-based network operations center.
