The Broadcast Traffic Consortium (BTC), a collection of 16 U.S. and Canadian radio organizations, has launched a website to facilitate promotion of traffic, weather and navigation services offered by it member businesses.

A BTC press release describes the new website as a source of "tailored information on the future of digital radio for automakers, consumer device makers and radio broadcasters." The site also contains specific information regarding news, market coverage maps and organizational history.

BTC's board of managers consists of executives from major radio ownership groups including Emmis, Greater Media, Entercom, Beasley, Cox, Bonneville, and Radio One, along with public broadcaster NPR. There is also a standing technical standards committee. The BTC membership includes seven additional broadcast groups along with map data network provider, Navteq.

BTC currently boasts services in 92 markets delivered via analog FM RDS-TMC and in 75 markets via HD Radio data services.
