AudioScience Joins AVnu Alliance
Newcastle, DE - Mar 16, 2012 - AudioScience has joined the AVnu Alliance as a promoter member. The AVnu Alliance was formed to promote and certify the IEEE Audio Video Bridging (AVB) set of standards. It includes manufacturers in the areas of professional audio/video, automotive and consumer electronics.AVnu-certified products will allow manufacturers to have one standards-based network that handles all video, audio, control and data, while reducing costs and simplifying deployment.
"We decided as a company to focus on audio-over-networks many years ago", said Stephen Turner, vice president of AudioScience. "One of our mission statements is to support and promote standards that are in our area of interest. When AVB came on the scene, we watched with interest, noting that it was being developed under the auspices of the IEEE and that it had prominent installed sound and network silicon companies behind it. Being completely scalable and covering a variety of industries, we feel AVB is a contender for the holy grail of audio and video over networks and so have chosen to rally around it through the AVnu Alliance".
