2012 Radio Mercury Awards Winners Announced

New York, NY - Oct 3, 2012 - Winners for the 2012 Radio Mercury Awards were announced at the 21st annual awards reception as part of the 2012 Advertising Week Conference in New York. This year's Best of Show Award was awarded to JWT San Juan for its campaign, "The Most Popular Song" for client Banco Popular de Puerto Rico by JWT San Juan/Medianet, marking the first time a Spanish Language spot and/or campaign has won Best of Show.

This year's Marketer of the Year Award was presented to Martine Reardon, chief marketing officer, Macy's on behalf of radio by Greg Glenday, president, Connections, Clear Channel Media + Entertainment. This award was presented to Macy's for its partnership with radio and understanding the value of the medium and taking advantage of all that it has to offer by utilizing radio across multiple channels, from local connections to national outreach via broadcast, digital, social media, live events, personality and artist integration.

The Radio Mercury Awards were established in 1992 to encourage and reward the development of effective and creative radio commercials. The annual Radio Mercury Awards competition draws entries from advertising agencies, production houses, radio stations, and educational institutions across the country. Approximately 17,000 commercials have competed for more than $3 million in prizes. The Radio Creative Fund (RCF), a non-profit corporation funded by the radio industry, governs the Radio Mercury Awards. The Radio Advertising Bureau produces the Radio Mercury Awards.
