Hanley is president of the Pittsburgh Radio Organization, is vice chairman of Eastern Public Radio and has served on numerous committees and task forces, including advisory groups for National Public Radio on program distribution, satellite radio and Internet activities. He is also co-manager of JazzWorks, LLC, a 24-hour jazz service for public radio, and director of applied media for the Department of Communication at Duquesne University.
